Women Development Cell

Arts & Commerce College Warwat Bakal has traditional women empowerment cell with an aim to empower them economically, socially, and legally andalso maintain the dignity of women at college. The cell aims to enhance and develop their skills by creating a sense of security, making our college a comforting campus and a welcoming second home. Through guest lectures, seminars, workshops, awareness programs, and welfare activities, the cell works hard to enhance women’s status and empower them.

Our Mission

The vision of our college's WDC is to build self-confidence, inspire active involvement in all college activities, ensure female students feel equal to male students, and empower female students.

Our Vision

WDC's mission is to educate female students about their legal rights within the college environment and actively pursue women's empowerment through programs promoting gender harmony and women's welfare.

  1. To promote a value of respect and equality for female gender.
  2. To conduct programs for female students so that they can understand their strength and potential.
  3. To educate female students on women specific health issues and measures to be taken.
  4. To conduct seminars and workshops to spread information on the numerous opportunities and tools available and train women accordingly.
  5. To undertake the awareness programmes on gender sensitization, women’s rights
  6. To help the women self-help group to get financial support by identifying thesources.

SPECIAL FACILITIES FOR FEMALE STAFF AND STUDENTS:

  • Girls common room is located on —– of college having notice board, complaint box, and first aid box.
  • MoU will be signed with female doctor especially, so that in case of emergency doctor is available.
  • Special Health Check-up camp once in year will be conducted.
  • Talks on well-being, cleanliness and diet especially for girl students will be organized by WDC.
  • In case of illness proper arrangement of taking the students to doctor or droppingat home will be provided.

 DUTIES, ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE COMMITTEE:

Following are the details of duties, roles and responsibilities of committee members

  • Women Day Program:To organize women day program once in a year to honour women.
  • Conduct Awareness Program: To organize awareness program once in a year on women empowerment.
  • Instil entrepreneurial attitude: To encourage and foster entrepreneurial attitude among female students.
  • Mindset and develop decision making abilities: Conduct talks on to change their mindset and develop decision making abilities among female students.
  • Promote a culture of respect and equality: Advocate and promote a culture of respect, equality and freedom among female students.
  • Address eve-teasing and workplace harassment: Conduct seminar, workshop, and talks to raise awareness among female students.
  • Develop Interpersonal Skills: Implement initiatives to enhance interpersonal skills among female students.
